Question Laptop cursor gets stuck on the edge of the screen.
I tried getting into the windows RE ( recovery environment but can’t and it doesn’t do an automatic repair either. I turn the computer on and it shows the ASUS in search of incredible, logo and it stays on that forever. There is no rotating load thing and the screen never goes black. Your computer should now restore itself to "Factory Settings". Now choose which ever type of reset you wish.ħ. When the next screen loads, choose the option "Reset Device".Ħ. To fix the computer you should choose the second option listed.ĥ.
When screen turns black, hit F10 and ALT repeatedly until the computer shuts off.Ĥ. From here just follow the screen instructions until the recovery is completed.ģ. Here you want to select "Refresh your PC", if you do not wish to erase data, or "Reset your PC" to erase all data and restore your system.Ĩ. Click "Advanced Options" and then select "Troubleshoot".ħ. Now you want to let the laptop boot to the "Automatic Repair" screen.Ħ. Repeat this process a few times until you see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen.ĥ.
As soon as you see the rotating loading circle, press and hold the Power Button until the computer shuts off.Ĥ. NOTE: If you get a message saying "Error Resetting Device", then you should have the computer looked at by the manufacturer (if still under warranty) or by a tech.ģ.
I do have a new hard drive that I bought in it.Note: If this problem started after an update (or system reinstall), please make sure the laptop is not connected to the internet in any way before you use the following instructions. The ribbons on the motherboard are for the keyboard and the hard drive so I don't think those were attached incorrectly. The fan is running and keyboard functions work like caps lock, ctrl+alt+del (it turns the screen off for a bit). I took out the battery again and plugged in the charger with the same results computer turns on, screen is lit, but blank with no start up logos. Once the battery was back in, the computer turned on and the screen was lit, but still blank with no logos. I took the battery out and held the power button. After I replaced the CMOS battery, the screen finally turned on, but no logos appear and I can't access the BIOS from the F keys. I've gone through that video which is why I ended up replacing the CMOS battery for the BIOS as all of those steps and fixes didn't do anything about my black screen.
